Our educational concept is one that focuses on stimulating the development of individual talent and on self-organized learning supported by academically-qualified and professionally-experienced faculty members.
Our flexible study programs culminate in a career-oriented Final Project and are based on the American model of higher education, allowing students to customize their curriculum based on program requirements, previous studies, current interests and future ambitions. Providing students with a certain level of flexibility allows them to be directors of their own learning efforts and to strengthen their sense of ownership in the educational process. Students are guided every step of the way by our team and faculty members. Our multiple starting dates further provide for a year-round academically active community in which students can choose to start in the fall, winter, spring and summer of each academic year. Our modular course design and program structure allows for an optimal further education planning.
Our truly global community of #MetropolitanMinds is made up of many different nationalities from around the world, with students showing great appreciation for cultural diversity and entrepreneurial initiative. Our group’s global presence, through our sister institution UIBS, further facilitates students transferring between campuses and spending one or more quarters abroad. All partner campuses offer similar study programs and follow similar program structures for students to experience an interruption-free management education.
Our professionally-oriented curriculum instills a broad skillset, including critical thinking, problem solving and applied research, and is modeled after a multi-disciplinary approach to management education. The program outcomes are translated effectively into an up-to-date and well-rounded curriculum that addresses the functional areas of management and the contemporary challenges of business. The program’s four main pillars are focused on global, digital, sustainable and social business, which tie into the greater North Holland regional agenda of which Amsterdam is an integral part.
Our faculty members combine theory and practice also by bringing contemporary case studies and experienced guest speakers into the classroom, thereby preparing students as the global leaders of the future. Interactive teaching methods are fostered and result in a variety of delivery methods such as lectures, workshops, projects, tutoring and coaching, among others. Academic assessment models are developed with variety in mind. Small class sizes further improve group dynamics and help to build long-lasting connections among students.
